In The Country is a tangible, printed British country lifestyle keepsake magazine with a nod to the authentic western lifestyle too. ITC first launched in 2017 as a quarterly country lifestyle magazine and ran successfully for four years, attracting an international readership and the attention of Dragon’s Den Theo Paphitis as Founder, Holly was recognised as one of his #SBS Winners, however following Covid and the its subsequent effects on the economy, printing ceased in 2021. Until now…

Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Holly Thomson lives in West Sussex, England and alongside the magazine, runs a small livery yard at the foot of the South Downs.

Holly’s love for storytelling and writing flickered first at a young age, though she can’t pinpoint when, always jotting down short stories about mysterious horses then, whilst nowadays, her Notes app on her iPhone is overflowing with ideas for stories. So, when In The Country ceased printing in 2021 after four successful years, Holly was always searching for a way back to it.

Through Holly’s collaborative work with Emma Warren, who together, they co-founded Countrywomen’s Guide in 2023, Holly’s passion for writing was reignited and the idea for reviving In The Country only grew stronger with each passing interview she conducted and story she wrote. All of which you can read here, along with the most recent articles from Emma.
